The usual lock-in after a freelancer leaves is not withheld source — it is a domain still sitting in their registrar account.
What we do
You are the registrant. After you leave we redirect for six months. Source is handed over at the end of the care term (24 months on Zero Setup). Content and data are yours throughout and can be exported any time.
Ask before you sign
Who is the registrant, which account holds DNS, when source is delivered, how backups are fetched, how long the old URL still works. If they cannot answer, do not put your front door there.
